How To Prepare Your Space For A Kitchen Or Bathroom Remodel

Before The Crew Arrives

  • Clear all items at least 3 feet from the work area.
  • Remove all items from cabinets and countertops in work area.
  • They may need more than one electrical plug-in (and access to the breaker panel, if needed)
  • Put away fragile or irreplaceable items in a safe place.
  • Keep pets and children away from work areas.
  • Clear access to the attic hatch/door
  • Clear access to the crawl space hatch/door
  • Remove anything from surrounding walls that could fall if disturbed (pictures, Items on open shelving, etc.)
  • During the exact measuring they may need to remove some interior items
  • Cover any items you do not wish to have dust on that surround the workspace.

(Most crews will put up plastic to prevent as much dust as possible from leaving the workspace, but it is impossible to contain everything.  Be prepared for small amounts of dust to escape the workplace and settle on other items around the workspace.  Once the project is complete a maid service or the crew should clean the workspace and remove/clean any escaped dust from around the workspace.)
